Body of murder victim, 53, reburied

Saturday 18th July 2009, 12:03PM BST.

The body of a murdered Shropshire man found dead in a burned- out car 15 years ago has been returned to its final resting place.

Ludlow cemetery has reopened following the exhumation on Wednesday of the body of Ludlow antiques dealer Trevor Bradley.

He was reburied there yesterday morning during a private ceremony.

Mr Bradley died in April 1994, aged 53. His body was found in the footwell behind the front seats of his burned-out white Vauxhall Nova. The car was discovered in a field close to Melverley, between Oswestry and Shrewsbury, on April 27 that year.

He lived in Ludlow and had strong connections with Shrewsbury, particularly in the Monkmoor area.

He was also well known in Leominster where he regularly visited a bingo hall.

Detective Inspector Andy Parsons, who is leading the case review into the murder of Mr Bradley, said: “Significant information has come to light as a result of our continuing investigations and we decided it was necessary to take this unusual step to further our enquiries.

“We are now awaiting test results and thank the public for their cooperation and patience while the cemetery has been closed.”

No-one has ever been charged with Mr Bradley’s death and police have offered a £10,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of Mr Bradley’s killer.

Rachel Anstee, police spokesman, said officers were now waiting for results of tests on Mr Bradley’s body.
