Murder case test on body
Thursday 16th July 2009, 12:08PM BST.
Tests were today being carried out on the body of a Shropshire man dug up as part of a long-standing murder investigation.
Antiques dealer Trevor Bradley, from Sidney Road, Ludlow, who died 15 years ago, was exhumed from the town’s Henley Road Cemetery yesterday after police received new information about his death.
The 53-year-old’s charred body was found in his burnt-out Vauxhall Nova in Melverley in April 1994.
Toby Shergold, West Mercia Police spokesman, said: “Tests are ongoing and we are expecting to re-inter him tomorrow.”
The investigation into Mr Bradley’s murder was re-opened two years ago when a £10,000 reward was posted for information about his death.
Detective Inspector Andy Parsons said yesterday: “Significant information has come to light as a result of our continuing investigations and we decided it was necessary to take this unusual step.”
West Mercia Police has been working in conjunction with the Diocese of Hereford and HM Coroner.
