Letter: Voters fed-up with Lembit

Thursday 16th July 2009, 8:00AM BST.

LETTER: As a reader of the Shropshire Star for more years than I care to remember, I am at a complete loss as to why the editor considers it necessary to constantly publicise details of the ongoing and relentless involvements of zany MP Lembit Opik, known as the “clown of Westminster”.

This time we read of yet another saga involving him dating former Wonderbra girl Katie Green.

Who really cares? Not too many in his constituency I can assure you, who are fed up to the back teeth with him.

It’s bad enough having to endure his usual daily verbiage, but the time is long overdue to stop pandering to his obsessive publicity-seeking whims.

Some may consider him to be a colourful character, other not so.

He clearly has difficulty justifying his existence, salary (and the expenses), he receives. Enough is now more than enough – give us all a break from this individual.

Oh behave yourself Berni. I met lembit last sunday seemed a decent sort , as who cares who he is dateing some dio i suppose. What need to be seen has he done enough for his voters? you will all find out next year i for one think he will be around for a while yet. As for expenses some have taken the mick, but some of the joe public to be honest are a bit thick when it comes to what is needed money wise in order to perform your duty as an mp.
