Homes hit by power cut
Thursday 16th July 2009, 3:00PM BST.
About 3,000 properties were left without power in parts of Shrewsbury today.
It is thought some schools were affected by the power cut, which happened just before 12.50pm.
About 1,500 properties were back on within the hour and engineers were working to restore power to the others affected while investigations were being carried out into what caused the problem.
