Pet goat killed in attack

A pet goat kept at a pub near Telford was slaughtered in a vicious attack today.
The killers cut through three fences to catch Steve the billy goat in a paddock opposite the Brewery Inn, Coalport, before slitting his throat.
His body was then dragged through the fencing, into an alleyway between the pub and woodland, over a stile and into woods where he was butchered. The alarm was raised this morning.
Landlord Roger Hotchkiss said he believed that Steve – who was named after one of the pub’s customers – had been deliberately targeted by people who wanted the animal for the meat.
He said: “We are devastated. My daughter Fiona and the girls who looked after him are really upset. We can’t believe it. We’ve had Steve for about a year for the customers and their kids to pet when they come here.
“He was a big billy goat and they’ve ignored his partner Maureen and their kid Baby GaGa and gone for Steve.
“There’s a trail of blood from the paddock, over the stile into woods.”
Mr Hotchkiss said he thought that the attackers struck between 2am and 4am today.
“He was a big goat and would have had a lot of meat on him,” he said.
Telford police confirmed they are investigating the theft of a goat and appealed for anyone with information to contact officers on 0300 333 3000.

The world is full of very sick, dangerous people, it seems that the sane are now in the minority.
People who photograph young children for their sick and perverse pleasure are given light sentences, murderers get out in 10 years, and those who inflict the kind of damage upon harmless animals, if caught, will probably walk away laughing, with a suspended sentence, or tagging and probation.
Time for the Birch to be brought back – ask “Mad Frankie Fraser” the London torturer what affected him most in his criminal punishment, and the Birch was the foremost issue.
