Craig in return to BB house

Monday 13th July 2009, 12:22PM BST.

craig-phillipsNewport’s Craig Phillips, who was the original winner of Big Brother, was this afternoon going back into the Channel 4 show to join this season’s housemates.

He was being sent into the house in a bid by producers to boost ratings as part of the 10th anniversary year of the show.

Alan Hamilton, Craig’s agent, said: “Craig has nothing to prove, he won the first series and is arguably the most famous and successful BB winner of them all. He is taking a copy of his autobiography with him and is hoping to pass this to housemates to inspire them.

“Producers have promised to offer a significant fee to cancer-related charities in memory of Jade Goody.

“His first task is to go head-to-head in an assault course challenge with a current housemate.”

He added: “We are as yet unsure as to exactly when he will leave the house but he has 140 shows of 60-Minute Makeover to film, an autobiography book party to organise and he’s currently building a development of five new apartments – so he has no time to stay even if he wanted to.”
