Freddie beats Kris in BB vote survival
Saturday 11th July 2009, 9:44AM BST.
The battle of Shropshire’s two Big Brother contestants ended in a landslide win for Freddie Fisher, as his arch rival Kris Donnelly became the sixth person to be evicted from the show.
Kris was booted out last night after being put up for eviction alongside Freddie, Marcus, Charlie and Dogface. He received 63 per cent of the public vote, according to Channel 4. Freddie was saved by the public for the fifth week in a row.
Housemates gasped with surprise as Davina McCall announced his name.
Karly said: “Oh, I can’t believe that.”
Lisa added: “None of us even nominated him. He didn’t do anything wrong. I don’t think he’s really gone.”
Kris, Charlie and Dogface had been put up for eviction by Big Brother after they broke the rules this week by discussing nominations.
As Kris walked out, he was greeted with a mixture of boos and cheers from the crowd waiting outside.
He exchanged a farewell embrace with Dogface before leaving.
When asked by McCall in his post-eviction interview whether Dogface was his girlfriend he said: “We haven’t had the chat yet.”
He added: “I do really care about her – honestly.”
Freddie’s odds as favourite to win the show were shortened by bookmaker Coral, whose spokesman said: “The only certainty was that Freddie would stay – again.”
Freddie’s odds are now to 11-8 while Sophie is the top tipped female, with her odds shortening from 7-4 to 5-4.
Kris said he thought he’d been kicked out because people thought he was fake. He said: “From what I can gather, people think the relationship between me and Sophie was fake. They couldn’t quite sum me up as a person. It doesn’t really make sense.”
He also spoke about his relationship with Freddie and said: “He’s a bit of a pleb and I don’t like him. I tolerated him for about four hours in there. I think he’s disrespectful the way he talked to people.”
Fans suggested Kris’s dislike of Freddie and ill treatment of him was the reason for his eviction. They predicted that Sophie would now seek comfort in the arms of Freddie. One blogger, Dustypilgrimm, wrote: “Out of terrible guardship and cruelty arises true love. BB’s very own Beauty and the Beast parable.”
PRETTY BOY’S BEST BITS
Tousled haired Shropshire ladies’ man Kris was was Big Brother’s pretty boy who delighted in his reputation as a babe magnet.
The Shrewsbury charmer entered the house to a chorus of cheers – but left to a chorus of boos. His first act in the Big Brother house was to spot Sophie, say “Aye Aye” then stroll over to her and plant a kiss on her cheek.
He told the diary room he was a pretty boy, in Big Brother for the women and he was up for a good summer.
He was filmed dancing as he cleaned the Big Brother house’s windows and frequently danced for the camera, on one occasion singing a song that became his signature tune: “I get all the girls, I get all the girls”.
He flirted relentlessly with a number of female housemates before canoodling under the hot sun with Sophie.
Kris and Sophie took to the bedrooms, but Freddie suggested the relationship was fake and said: “He’s definitely not in love with Sophie.”
Kris dressed in a women’s swimsuit and cannonballed into the house pool, he thrilled other competitors during an egg and spoon race and earned a reputation for being a party-loving funster.
Other people in the house described him as being good fun and a gentleman. He donned a variety of costumes during his stay, including a pirate’s outfit, and before departing said a fond farewell to Sophie.
But he left to a muted response from the public and many bloggers on the Big Brother message board said they were glad to see him out, accusing him of bullying Freddie throughout the show.
