Two people have been arrested on suspicion of arson following a fire which destroyed two cars at a farm in Powys.

Dyfed-Powys Police said today a 19-year-old-man and a 20-year-old woman had been arrested following the fire at a farm in Trehelig, near Welshpool, last month.

Sian George, communications officer for Dyfed-Powys Police, said the incident had caused thousands of pounds worth of damage.

She said: “Two parked cars were destroyed deliberately by fire, along with the tyre of a tractor parked nearby, between 9pm and 11.30pm on June 15.

“We have now arrested two people on suspicion of arson and they have been released on police bail pending further inquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101.
