Celtic win means it’s a Telford full house

Thursday 9th July 2009, 10:21AM BST.

AFC Telford United will be competing against a full Blue Square North next season after Farsley Celtic won their appeal to be re-admitted.

The Yorkshire club had been booted out of the competition last week, having breached league rules by going into administration after the AGM.

That had caused concern among the remaining clubs, including Telford, who were facing up to losing matchday revenue of up to £10,000.

But the decision was reversed by the Conference directors, who have instead stipulated that Farsley will start the season on minus 10 points.

League chairman Brian Lee stated: “The directors have acted very swiftly with fairness in this matter.

“The announcement of our decision was only delayed until this morning, whilst the legal position was clarified and to enable us to inform Farsley Celtic before our official statement was issued.”

* Telford today announced prices for their first home friendly, against League Two side Port Vale, on Tuesday evening.

Entrance to all sections of the ground will be £8 for adults, £5 for concessions and £1 for under-16s.

Tickets for away fans are also on sale throughout the week for the Shropshire Senior Cup final against Shrewsbury Town at the Prostar Stadium on Saturday, July 18.
