Back in 1976 ‘Hotel California’ symbolised everything that was wrong for me about American popular music. Vacuous, uninspired, vapid, mundane, middle-of-the-road, AOR corporate radio friendly aural cud. Just how cranium crushingly dull in 1976 did your life have to be for a song like this to apply a jolt your spirit?
Fortunately for me the Pistols came to my rescue very soon after.
