Bully greets fans at showhome event
Tuesday 7th July 2009, 10:27AM BST.
Former Wolves and England goal ace Steve Bull was on hand to sign shirts and greet fans when he took a trip to Bridgnorth to officially open a showhome on a new housing development in the town.
Bully was at David Wilson Mercia’s Ludlow Gate development off Ludlow Road on Saturday for the ceremony.
Football followers, as well as would-be home-buyers, had been invited along to meet the legendary striker at the official opening.
Chris Ashmore, sales director for David Wilson Mercia, said: “Steve Bull is a legend in the world of football and it is very exciting that he was able to help us open our brand new showhome at Ludlow Gate.”
Ludlow Gate comprises seven five and six-bedroom homes and Mr Ashmore added: “These homes are the only new homes of their kind in this area, making this a very exciting development and interested home-buyers are urged to come along this Saturday to find their very own piece of heaven.”
He said: “Showhomes are very important part of any new home development and this piece in particular is hugely important due to the exclusivity of this development, meaning that homebuyers will be able to see for themselves the superb quality of these seven exquisite homes.”
Bully played for Wolves from 1986 to 1999 and still holds the club’s goalscoring record, having netted more than 300 times in all competitions.
He was capped 13 times for England between 1989 and 1991 and scored four times for the national side.
Bully has flirted with football management since his retirement, taking over charge of Conference National side Stafford Rangers in February last year but he parted company with the club last December as the club ran into financial difficulties.
