Steam rally has tripled

Tuesday 7th July 2009, 9:52AM BST.

Special measures are being put in place to deal with the thousands of visitors expected at Bridgnorth’s steam rally which has tripled in size this year.

The rally is held at Severn Park and is organised by the Trevithick 200 charity which was formed to celebrate the construction of first fare-paying passenger train in Bridgnorth in 1808.

Brian Davies, organiser, said 300 exhibitors would be at the event compared to 70 last year.

The rally runs from July 17 to 19, gates open at 10am.
