Shrews leave Humphrey at home

Friday 3rd July 2009, 7:00PM BST.

chris-humphrey1Shrewsbury Town head off to their pre-season training camp to Spain tomorrow – but Chris Humphrey will not be amongst the travelling party, writes JAMES GARRISON.

The winger still hasn’t signed a two-year contract and manager Paul Simpson has elected to leave Humphrey at home.

“Chris doesn’t want to commit himself just yet and tells me there is still interest from two or three clubs,” said the Town boss.

“He won’t be going to Spain and will be coming in to keep his fitness up with Nigel (Vaughan, head of youth).”

Simpson has revealed Blackpool are the only club to have made contact with Shrewsbury to date after having a bid for Humphrey rejected last week.
