Bucks keen for Field to agree deal
Monday 29th June 2009, 1:34PM BST.
Boss Rob Smith will move to make in-demand trialist Tom Field a fully-fledged AFC Telford United player within days, writes CHRIS HUDSON.
The former Everton apprentice joined up with the Bucks squad as they returned to pre-season training on Saturday.
Field, 23, has extensive non-League experience with the likes of Southport, Stalybridge, Leigh Genesis and Vauxhall Motors, as well as a short spell at The New Saints in the Welsh Premier.
Now Telford will look to pip a handful of other clubs who have also targeted the creative midfield playmaker by agreeing terms this week.
“We talked to Tom on Saturday but nothing is sorted out yet and we’ll talk again tomorrow evening,” said Smith.
“He’s keen and we’re keen, so hopefully we can do something.”
Smith was delighted with the attitude and condition of his squad as they were put through their paces with a hard running session at Wrekin College on Saturday.
