Star’s front row seat for sporting history

This week’s pictures from the past
Friday 26th June 2009, 11:56AM BST.
Remember this? Mrs Liz Birnie, of Old Street, Ludlow, says: “It’s the wonderful Craven Arms and Stokesay Station showing its wonderful architecture, in 1966.
“I thought people would be interested in this photo as it was a beautiful old station when I was a teenager. It was knocked down many years ago. It’s such a shame.”
The photographer was her late father Piotr Borowik, whose first name was anglicised as Peter. He was Polish and became a naturalised Briton. He served with Polish forces as part of the Eighth Army. The family lived at Kempton, near Lydbury North.
