Weapons stolen in burglary

Intruders have stolen distinctive weapons from a home in Wellington.
An Indian swinging club and a World War Two Ghurka kukri knife were stolen in the break-in Holyhead Road
Burglars entered the property through a first-floor window which had been left slightly ajar between 8.30am and 5.30pm on Monday.
An untidy search was made of the house and the items, along with £200 cash, were stolen.
Police spokeswoman Denise Wakefield said: “The Indian swinging club looks like a bat, but they were used in the 1920s as an exercise tool.
“The kukri knife was in a brown/purple-coloured leather case.
“We are concerned the items may get into the wrong hands, so if people have any information at all, please call us on 0300 333 3000.”
