police-car-lights7Thieves have stolen tools belonging to a Powys man killed in a road accident.

Now his devastated family have appealed for their return.

George Williams, 29, died in November after his Ford Transit van left the B4393 at Criggion Bridge, between Crewgreen and Llandrinio.

Today his mother Glenis Williams, of Welshpool, said she had been left devastated after thieves stole hundreds of pounds of tools which had belonged to her son.

Constable Colin Baker, of Welshpool police, said the incident had taken place between 10.30pm on Sunday and 6am on Monday.

He said: “We are appealing for information in relation to a burglary which occurred in a rural location of Varchoel Lane, Guilsfield.

“Two sheds were entered and numerous items were stolen, including chainsaws, hedge trimmers and a Honda 600cc motorcycle.

“The sheds belong to the father of George Williams. Because many of the tools belonged to George, it is not known exactly what was taken and the family are appealing for witnesses to come forward with information in order to hopefully retrieve the items.”

Mrs Williams said: “We are all very upset and can’t believe what has happened.

“We hope anyone that knows anything about the incident will get in touch and help us retrieve some of George’s tools.”

Anyone with information should call police on 101.
