Europe’s ‘fiddling’ a bigger concern

Monday 22nd June 2009, 9:00AM BST.

money3LETTER: The amount of money some British MPs, including ministers, fiddled offended most taxpayers in Britain.

I am more concerned about the fiddling in the European Government. Over the last 14 years the auditors have refused to sign the audit papers of that government.

An independent investigation into the European Government will make the British MPs look like a child stealing sweets compared to the largest bank robbery ever known.

I was a councillor on Dawley Urban District Council from 1969 to 1972 before I resigned to take a job in Redditch. In those days councillors were not paid.

Legitimate expenses were available but I never claimed those, as records will show.

In the last Euro elections I voted UKIP. They are the only party to withdraw us from being controlled by the European Government. Both Tony Blair and Gordon Brown promised a referendum but both did a U-turn.

Conservative leader David Cameron has said we can have a referendum but only if the Irish again vote no in their second referendum – which proves he hasn’t got the bottle to say yes or no.
