A 61-year-old businessman was today jailed for 22 months and told he must “live with the consequences” of his part in a fatal collision involving a nine-year-old boy from a village near the Shropshire border.

David James Lunn was handed the sentence at Mold Crown Court for having no insurance or driving licence when he hit Robert Gaunt in Overton, near Ellesmere, on March 19.

The court heard Lunn, from Moorland Avenue, Queens Park, Wrexham, then  attempted to destroy evidence by burning his Jaguar car’s damaged bumper and buying a new one.
