Bucks out to match ticket sales

Thursday 18th June 2009, 11:28AM BST.

AFC Telford United are confident they are on course to at least match season ticket sales from 2008-9, writes JAMES GARRISON.

The Bucks sold 680 season tickets last term, and chairman Lee Carter believes the early indications are of similar interest this time around, despite the Blue Square North play-off final defeat to Gateshead.

“They have only been on sale two weeks and we are around the 300 mark,” said Carter, who confirmed manager Rob Smith was in negotiations over adding to his squad before the return to pre-season training next Saturday.

“We are very pleased with where we are and, at this stage, I would say we were on course for around the same as last year.

“I think there was a bit of negativity around the place in the two weeks after last season but we are getting a good squad together and everything is positive.”
