Speaking at the opening of the new club house at Oswestry Golf Club is Neil Wilson, club chairman, left, with Ian Woosnam, who opened the club house, and Bob Hatt, club captain.
Leading golfer Ian Woosnam returned to his home club in Shropshire to open its new £1.1 million clubhouse.
More than 200 members and invited guests watched as the former US Masters champion and Ryder Cup winner opened the new building at Oswestry Golf Club.
Although he began his golfing life at Llanymynech, Mr Woosnam moved to Oswestry when he became a professional and was officially attached to Oswestry.
His family have close connections to the club with his late parents Harold and Joan both members, while Gareth, his brother, is the club’s head greenkeeper.
Before cutting the ribbon to officially open the building, Woosnam said: “It is always special to come back to Oswestry.
“The clubhouse looks magnificent and you can be very proud of what you have achieved here.”
