Town’s season kicks off at home

shrewsnewlogotm3Shrewsbury Town will begin their bid for promotion to League One with a home clash against Football League newcomers Burton Albion.

The Shrews home game takes place on August 8, before the Shrews take their League Two campaign on the road with two consecutive away matches.

Paul Simpson’s men will be hoping to better last year’s campaign which ended in Wembley heartbreak with a last-minute Play-off Final defeat to Gillingham.

The Shrews reached the final after turning around their poor away form.

Wolverhampton Wanderers begin their Premier League campaign with a home match against West Ham United on August 15.

They also finish their campaign at Molineux, against Sunderland.

Newcastle United begin life in the Coca-Cola Championship with a trip to fellow relegated side West Bromwich Albion.

West Brom follow that with a trip to face Nottingham Forest.

Premier League Champions Manchester United begin the defence of their title at home to newly-promoted Birmingham City, before a trip to Burnley.

Wolves travel to Old Trafford to play Manchester United 10 days before Christmas, with the return fixture in March.

Stoke City begin their season with a home game against Burnley.
