Pensioner dies after road smash

A 78-year-old man has died following a two-car smash on a Shropshire road today.
The pensioner, a driver of a silver coloured Audi involved in the collision on the A49 at Wooferton, near Ludlow, at about 11.25am, was airlifted to Birmingham’s Selly Oak Hospital but later died after suffering multiple injuries.
The driver of the other car, a silver coloured Mercedes, was described by ambulance staff as “walking wounded” and was taken to Hereford County Hospital.
