Pupil hurt in collision

police-car-lights3A teenage pedestrian was taken to hospital with a leg injury after she was in collision with a car on a busy town centre street in Shrewsbury.

The Year 9 pupil from the town’s Wakeman School was taken to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital following the incident in Wyle Cop yesterday at 2.50pm.

Maria Hawkaluk, spokeswoman for West Mercia Police, said: “Police were called to an incident involving a collision between a blue Toyota Celica and a pedestrian. The pedestrian had a leg injury which was not believed to be life threatening.”
