Shrewsbury will hope to look up
Friday 12th June 2009, 1:00PM BST.
Shrewsbury are preparing for a crunch weekend when they could move out of the Birmingham League premier division drop zone and into the last 32 of the National Knockout.
Currently second from bottom, the London Road men travel to a Walmley team who are just one place above them in the table tomorrow.
And they return to home soil on Sunday when Derbyshire side Dunstall are the visitors for the regional semi-final of the National KO.
Shrewsbury’s hopes have received something of a dent, however, with Ryan Bishop and Tom Allin both on Cardiff University duty against Middlesex.
Jon Anders is also unavailable tomorrow, with Tom Cox and James Gale coming back into the side.
Anders returns on Sunday with Shrewsbury School pair Joe Leach and Alex Blofield coming into the side.
They will replace Tom Cox, George Gibbons and Wes Robinson – the Australian is ineligible as overseas players are not allowed in the competition – from Saturday’s team.
“It’s a big weekend and we are pleased the weather is set fair,” said captain Ed Foster.
“Walmley are just above us in the table so it’s a chance to get a good points return.”
