Swine flu victim progressing

A Shropshire woman struck down with swine flu after returning from a trip to the United States is making good progress.
The Telford woman, believed to be in her 30s, is being treated at home.
She is understood to be suffering only mild symptoms of the virus and remains the only confirmed case in the county.
A spokesman for NHS Te- lford and Wrekin, said today: “The patient is continuing to receive treatment at home and is responding well.”
Yesterday another 15 cases of swine flu were confirmed as a leading scientist warned the number of people with the illness could actually be twice as many as the current UK total of 557.
Professor Hugh Pennington, a bacteriologist at Aberdeen University, said: “I think it would be very reasonable to say we’ve got at least twice as many cases as we know about.”
Meanwhile, classes resu- med at Eton College today after the public school shut for a week following more than 30 cases of swine flu.
And a 38-year-old woman who is critically ill with the virus has given birth to a premature baby.
She and the baby, which does not have swine flu, are in intensive care at the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley.
