Kitchener eyes Scottish crunch

Monday 8th June 2009, 6:00PM BST.

56655205Bring on the Scots – that’s the call from Shropshire’s Graham Kitchener ahead of England’s next game in IRB Toshiba Junior World Championships in Japan.

Having hammered the hosts 43-0 with six tries in their opener Tokyo, England now face Scotland tomorrow.

And second row Kitchener, who played junior rugby for Shrewsbury and Newport’s Adams Grammar, has been selected in the side having been amongst the replacements in the first game.

He said: “It’s always nice to get a home nation in your group because they’re always special matches – and obviously we’re hoping to raise our performance to the next level.”

But the Worcester Warriors man warned: “They’re a good team and we’re expecting a real physical confrontation. If we can raise our game I’m confident we’ll get the win.”
