Shropshire Big Brother contestant Freddie Fisher lives a lavish lifestyle in his family’s historic mansion home in the county.

Today the caretaker at the country home where Freddie lives said he was shocked to hear the 23-year-old was on the show  but and that he would be tuning in.

Henry Smith, caretaker at the Fisher family mansion Oakley Hall, Oakley, Market Drayton, said he had known Freddie since he was born and the Oxford graduate was an “eccentric character”.

Oakley Hall is set in 100 acres of rolling parkland, is an example of a Queen Anne mansion and was the home of the Chetwode family until it was finally sold in 1919.

Mr Smith said: “It’s a surprise for me but come to think of it now I think I can understand the connection because we had a wedding here last year and one of the guests was involved with Big Brother, they had come up from London and that is possibly where the connection started. He is a bubbly character. He’s spent a couple of years living in America since graduating.

“Recently he has been putting websites together with a friend from Japan.

Mr Smith said Freddie was the oldest of four children and had a brother, Charles, and sisters Virginia and Maddy. His parents are Fred senior and Anne.

Joseph Masi, 23, from Castlefields, Shrewsbury, said he went to a party at the family mansion three weeks ago. He said looking back the 24-hour event was probably Freddie’s farewell.
