Disley is delighted

New-signing Craig Disley today checked into Shrewsbury Town, confident his drop to League Two will only prove a temporary one.
The 27-year-old forward-thinking midfielder became Paul Simpson’s first summer signing when he penned a two-year deal at the Prostar Stadium yesterday.
Disley attracted interest from several clubs in the Football League basement following his release from League One side Bristol Rovers at the end of last season.
But Disley admitted he is confident of returning to League One quickly with Town.
“Shrewsbury have been there or thereabouts for the last couple of years,” said Disley, who ironically made his Football League debut against Town in 1999 for Mansfield, and was part of the Rovers team which defeated Gary Peters’ side in the 2007 play-off final.
“Paul Simpson has been there and done it as a manager and I think we will be challenging again next season.
“I want to get back to League One as soon as possible and I think we have a great chance of dong that.
“With what happened against Rovers and then losing to Gillingham, I would think the fans have had enough heartache at Wembley so hopefully we can finish in the top three and do it automatically.”
Disley, who revealed he spoke to ex-team mate former Town loanee Richard Walker before signing the contract, has built a reputation for a goal-scoring midfielder and is hoping to enhance that with Town.
“I didn’t get too many last season because I was playing out of position wide,” he added.
“But hopefully I can chip in with a few if I play centrally because any team needs goals from midfield.”
Meanwhile, rumours persist linking Town assistant manager John McMahon with a dream move to work at Liverpool’s academy.

I realy think Ishmel Dementagnac or however you spell his name that was released from walsall would be a good signing and also agree with derek asamoah, both have good flair to bring to club.
