UFOs? Bah, Humbug! Probably.
Tuesday 2nd June 2009, 12:19PM BST.
Another day, another sighting of a UFO and, unless I’m very much mistaken, yet another set of “Why on earth does Shropshirestar.com publish this rubbish?” emails on the way.

So, why on earth does Shropshirestar.com publish this rubbish?
In short, it’s popular. That’s why.
People are genuinely fascinated by the unexplained, by UFOs, by ghosts, by rumours of wild cats loose in the countryside – you know the sort of thing; it’s probably of interest to you, too.
Have a look on YouTube and you will find hundreds – possibly thousands – of UFO videos. Some appear genuine; some appear genuinely rubbish, but most of them are fascinating to look at.
Of course there are those with minds more sealed than a spaceman’s helmet. As far as they are concerned there is nothing out there and anyone who dares to dream is a fool and an idiot.
Fair enough, we’re all entitled to our opinion
But Shropshire does seem to be particularly blessed with such strange phenomena. UFO sightings come in on an almost weekly basis.
Thanks to the magic of the internet there are readers around the world who log in to see what’s going on in this small, green patch of England.
It’s possible that there are beings somewhat further away logging in as well.
And slowly, but surely, they’re drawing their plans against us…
(Possibly.)

There may be a secret underground facility under Shropshire. It may conect to the SGU – Sub Global UnderGround System. It may or may not, just like Saddam Had WMDs, or China managed to space walk, or Challenger just exploded on re-entry, or how Gary Mckinnon (sp) caused 40 million dollars worth of damage to NASA computers with a dial up modem & basic skills, or how John Kelly (i think that was his name) commited suicide. It may be true, it may not.

Thanks for a good article. What most people miss is many people like myself who witness these UFO objects, in detail and at close range, have no place to go to rationalize it away. I witnessed with a friend two flying disks, in the daytime over a beach, pretty close. I never forgot it and neither did he. So I was pulled into this because I was the type of personality that just could not fluff it away. I knew from my love of science and science fiction that I had witnessed something extraordinary. It was 1962

I think its that a lot of people have seen a UFO. It may not be some other-worldly craft but just something they couldn’t explain and has stuck with them ever since. I saw a large flying disc pass by several hundred feet above me on a summers day 14 years ago, don’t know what it was but it was incredible. That was in the local paper at the time I remember.

The realitites are stranger than the masses are able to comprehend, it is a survival mechanism, both natural and programmed, that their minds put up instant barriers to gnosis of the paranormal.
The first thing people say is “were you drinking”. Well that is a programmed response. Ironically altered states of consciousness do allow us to see the realms beyond the material, because someone is drunk or high or delerious it does not necessarily mean what they are seeing isnt there. The cave paintings 35000 and the abduction stories of today tell the same stories. Thus the aliens we seem to be in contact with are not “nuts and bolts” they seem to be etheric in some way.
Nobody will ever understand the paranormal (its all interconnected, fairies and gnomes and ghosts are all the same thing) with a western scientific mindset, until science catches up with the mystics.

wish people would do some research themselves instead of moaning about this. take for example the cosford incident in march 1993 its never been explained to this day and even the yanks cant explain it. one thing we do know is that it definatley was’nt a satelite returning to earth (cosmos 225).
check out the book by timothy good- need to know.
maybe then people will take a different view.
there is something going on and in 2012 we will all see what.
i think there is something going on, just dont know what it is?????

It is easy for people to dismiss these articles as a waste of time.
However i would be very cautious about dismissing the potential defence risks that may occur if we ignore ufo’s.
After all we alledgedly live in a climate of attack from terrorists, so i think it is important that the public have the confidence that they will be listened to.
Unfortunately fact is that it is highly unlikely that we are the only species that can travel through space {it would be a tad arrogant to think so}, some people need to realise that no matter how uncomfortable the idea, that ufo’s might not be man made –
Scientifically speaking – considering the amount of planets out in our immediate solar system/ universe – scientists have compared it to be like getting on the train to london from where ever you happen to live, and expecting to see nobody at all.
chinese lanterns and doubting thomas’s who have yet to experience anything of this kind, is only one side of te story.

I have been visiting earth for many years now and know I have been photographed on a number of occasions. I do try and wave and smile when the flash goes off and always try and look my best for the camera.
The last person we abducted was very friendly and invited us to tea at ‘the palace’ were she lives.
I don’t think I shall be coming back for a while though as my expenses claim for my visit here was declined. I may try to get a job in your goverment were it doesn’t matter what you claim for.
