Diddlebury garden trail organiser Julie Tustin.Gardens in the village of Diddlebury, in the beautiful Corvedale, will be open to the public for the first time next weekend.

At least 14 gardens will be open on June 7 including Delbury Hall.

There is a real mixture of gardens showing just want can be achieved on plots of varying sizes.

Many have superb views of the Clee Hills and some also feature the River Diddle running through the garden.

There will be cream teas at the village hall and a sausage sizzler at The Mill House garden.

Mark Zenick will give a talk on Daylilies and Herbaceous Perennials at 2 and 4pm and his Mynd Hardy Plants Nursery, based in the walled garden of Delbury Hall, will also be open.

For the children, there will be a hunt for six dragons in the garden of Home Farm Barn.

If they manage to locate all six very tame dragons, they will receive a dragon’s egg that look suspiciously like a Cadbury’s creme egg!!

The gardens can all be visited via a circular walk starting at the village hall but for those less able or who do not want to do the walk, there will be parking at various stages.

Gardens open at midday and close at 6pm. Last tickets will be sold at 5pm.
