Inspiring seminar to raise cash for charity

Monday 1st June 2009, 2:26PM BST.

A Shropshire business is hoping to encourage companies to buck the trend of the current economic downturn while raising thousands of pounds for charity at the same time.

Shrewsbury-based The Entrepreneur’s Coach has organised an event, called Inspiring Entrepreneurship, which will see county companies join forces in a bid to to help the growth of Shropshire’s economy.

Gareth Emberton, of The Entrepreneur’s Coach, said: “How can we grow the Shropshire economy despite the rest of the UK? Do we have to rely on the decisions made in Westminster, or can we chart our own economic course?

“In the past, it is well known that Shropshire has been a hot-bed of entrepreneurial activity. By utilising our local entrepreneurial talents, how can we focus on bucking the trend, which will have a positive impact on Shropshire GDP to make us a leader in the UK economy?”

Mr Emberton is also joined a guest speaker by Neil Bevan, director of marketing and web design company Hunter Bevan Ltd, who will be presenting a section on Entrepreneurial Marketing. The event at Shrewsbury Town’s ProStar Stadium on June 11, from 1pm to 5.30pm, is hoping to answer some of those questions, with all cash from ticket sales going to Hope House children’s hospice.

Tickets are £50 and all proceeds will go to charity, with Ruth Maddox of Barclays Bank is also supporting the event by donating up to £750 to the hospice and Shrewsbury Town Football Club is also supporting the event.
