Dogs of the week – Duke and Sheba
Friday 29th May 2009, 7:58AM BST.
A mother and son pair of German Shepherds are on the look-out for a new home – together.
Duke, seven, and Sheba, nine, are currently being looked after by Dogs Trust Roden.
They have been looking for a new home since January, but despite being extremely loving and cuddly with humans, they have found it difficult to find a new owner since they must be rehomed together.
Dogs Trust Roden Manager, Louise Campbell, said: “Duke and Sheba are inseparable and it would break their hearts if they couldn’t find a loving home together.
“They are both very friendly with everyone they meet and will always greet you with a big wag of their fluffy tails. Big dogs have big hearts and this is certainly the case with Duke and Sheba. ”
The two dogs were handed into the Rehoming Centre following a change in their family’s circumstances.
Like most dogs, they love going for walks, but are happiest when curled up next to each other watching the world go by.
They share an incredible bond and staff are determined not to separate them at all costs as the stress this would cause them would be unbearable.
Sheba and Duke are looking for a home where they would be the only dogs and any children are over the age of eight years old.
Anyone who can offer a loving home to them or any other dog should contact Dogs Trust Roden on 01952 770 225 or visit the Rehoming Centre at Roden Lane Farm, Telford, Shropshire, TF6 6BP.
