Glam darts draw for Roberts

Shropshire darter Andy Roberts has been handed a high-profile first round draw in the ‘FA Cup of Darts’.

The Telford thrower will play former world women’s champion Anastasia Dobromyslova in the Blue Square UK Open at Bolton’s Reebok Stadium next Thursday night over the best of 11 legs.

Shrewsbury’s Paul Rowley meets David Fatum in round one while Mark Layton, of Llandrindod Wells takes on Steve Evans.

Some 97 players will begin the £200,000 tournament, with leading professional players joined by 31 Holsten pub qualifiers.

Defending champion and new Whyte & McKay Premier League champion James Wade, 14 times world-champion Phil Taylor and all the other top names will enter the tournament in the third round.
