Police stop illegal rave

Monday 25th May 2009, 10:25AM BST.

Police had to step in after an illegal rave in Mid Wales caused roads around the site to become blocked by traffic.

Officers said the gathering on MoD land between Builth Wells and Brecon in the early hours of yesterday had attracted a “substantial attendance from all over the UK”.

Dyfed Powys Police and MoD officers intervened as people started arriving at The Epynt, near Sennybridge.

A police spokeswoman said police did not have exact numbers but roads around the site had become blocked.

She said three people were arrested over alleged drug offences.
