It’s Shrewsbury Town’s day of destiny.
The players will step onto the hallowed Wembley turf at 3pm today knowing that one more do or die victory will see them return to Shropshire as heroes.
Town secured a place in the play-offs with a last-ditch away victory at Dagenham and Redbridge to leapfrog their opponents in the final game of the season.
And with a determined display the team came back from the brink by cancelling out a 1-0 deficit and then winning a dramatic penalty shoot-out against Bury to set up today’s dream final against Gillingham.
And the team will be backed by more than 20,000 fans, each one hoping the events of this afternoon will be carved in the club’s history forever.
