Firefighters had to cut a Shropshire teenager free from a car following a crash on a narrow country lane.

The 18-year-old, from Craven Arms, was airlifted to hospital after the accident which involved a 4×4 pick-up truck and a Vauxhall Corsa in Longville in the Dale, near Much Wenlock, at about 6.50pm yesterday.

Murray MacGregor, for West Midlands Ambulance Service, said the teenager did not appear to be seriously injured.

He was airlifted to the Royal Shrewsbury Hospital.
