Public set to air views

Residents were getting their chance today to express their views on UK Coal’s proposed opencast mine close to Shropshire’s landmark Wrekin hill.
A planning inquiry at the Holiday Inn in Telford Town Centre was holding a public session after hearing UK Coal’s arguments for the past three weeks.
Residents from as far away as Stafford have asked to be heard. The majority oppose the application to extract 900,000 tonnes of coal from Huntington Lane.
