Research on hum noise

Tuesday 19th May 2009, 12:07PM BST.

A low-pitched humming noise reported by residents in Church Stretton could just be down to over sensitive hearing, experts have revealed.

Research carried out by scientists at Cambridge’s Addenbrooke Hospital revealed the “Stretton hum” so many residents seem to hear could be a result of their own hearing.

Many residents in the region have complained of hearing the low-pitched background noise for more than a decade.

David Baguley, head of audiology at the hospital, has been leading the research.

I see, so Church Stretton is the only place in the country with people with over sensitive hearing.
I agreee with Pinky. I think it’s the aliens. They are hiding in Church Stretton during the day and come out at night

hey guys, I live in east sussex, near brighton, tonight I was sitting playing my ps3 with the volume not to loud but loud enough…when suddenly I heard a strange humming sound… i know this sounds silly but the kind of sound u’d expect from a hovering spacecraft.. it persisted for about 20 secs and I didnt think to look out the window lol. There are no factorys or anything like that and 2 mins after this noise that sounded like it was right outside my window (and i had my top window open)..we had an electricity surge?! very strange..maybe we should not always accept the ideas of these scientists all the time……
