Jobs created on estate

Jobs are set to be created in Oswestry after two industrial units were snapped up.

Edryd Jenkins, an electrical and refrigeration contractor based in Aberystwyth, has moved into an industrial unit in the town’s Radford Fields Industrial Estate and says the firm wants to build up a team of local based engineers.

It already employs one person in the Shropshire town.

Rhodri Jenkins, refrigeration contracts manager, said: “We are very excited about our new Oswestry branch and look forward to helping the local community while offering more local employment in the very near future.

“Our plans are to build a team of locally-based engineers to operate from Radford Fields, working within our refrigeration, electrical and fire alarm divisions.”

It is the second piece of good news for the industrial estate.

Elsewhere on the estate, Hortech, a grounds maintenance and landscape management contractors, has moved into a larger unit, and says it is taking on 10 staff to add to its workforce of 12.

Duncan Jones, Hortech commercial director, said the firm had won a major contract with Severn Trent.

Janet Stokes, estates manager at PxP West Midlands, which runs Radford Fields, said: “We are delighted Hortech are remaining at Radford Fields Industrial Estate and Edryd Jenkins (Electrical) Ltd is bringing new investment to the area.”
