House fire in the early hours

Saturday 16th May 2009, 10:40AM BST.

Firefighters were called to a Llandrindod Wells home after a fire broke out in the ground floor early today.

Crews were called to the house in Oxford Street at about 3.30am and took about half an hour to deal with the blaze.

A spokeswoman for Mid & West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a house fire affecting the ground floor.

“We sent two appliances from Llandrindod Wells and they put the fire out by about 4am.

“Nobody was injured and no major damage was caused. The cause of fire is currently unknown.”
