Ken Dodd adds date
Thursday 14th May 2009, 11:39AM BST.
Legendary funny man Ken Dodd has added a second performance of his Happiness Show at Shrewsbury’s Theatre Severn after tickets for his first show sold out in hours.
It comes days after the comedian’s booking for an annual show at Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall was cancelled over fears that he is no longer funny enough.
But Dodd will be welcomed to Shrewsbury on July 8 and 9 to perform in the town for the first time in more than five years.

Manfred Man who appear in village halls throughout the UK & Ken Dodd who once appeared at Shrewsbury Police club?
I honestly thought that Theatre Severn was a serious & quality venue & not on a par with the Swindon Bovril factory or mevagissey Trawlermens Social Clubs.

I remember Doddie about fifty years ago at The Granada!

Xhristo I think you miss red the article “after tickets for his first show sold out in hours.” I think if a show sells out in a few hours then he must be in demand, and yes ok he is not everyone type, I don’t really like the man but if he is selling out then why not have him? Well done Theatre Severn!
