Man flees chip pan fire
Tuesday 12th May 2009, 10:20AM BST.
A man in his 50s had to flee a smoke-filled flat in Market Drayton today after a chip pan caught fire in the kitchen while he was asleep.
The man was alerted to the blaze by neighbours in the flat above at Allen Gardens just after midnight.
Firefighters from Market Drayton, Hodnet and Shrewsbury went to to the scene but as the fire was out on arrival.
