A man was punched in the face and forced to empty his pockets and hand over his mobile phone by a gang of men in Wellington.
The victim was walking along Albert Road when he heard footsteps behind him.

Police said today the gang told the victim to empty his pockets and stole his mobile phone during the incident, which happened at about 1.30am on Saturday.
The robbers then fled towards Leegomery.
