Letter: Another silly idea
Wednesday 6th May 2009, 8:58AM BST.
Letter: Police Community Support officers are walking around Northampton with megaphones telling people to lock their doors and not leave windows open in hot weather because burglars can sneak in. And if a door is ajar the police can enter the house and wake people up if they are asleep.
Wouldn’t it be better to just catch the thieves and put them away?
Scenario: “This is the police . . . lock your doors and windows because we haven’t got time to catch criminals, we are too busy walking down every street warning burglars to rob you when they know we have moved on to the next street . . .”
Long live Gordon Brown and his Ministry of Silly Ideas!

I do not understand the above story realy .How ever the cso idea who are glorified security guards have to be the stupidist stunt the labour pary brought in .
I pay for a police force not a bunch of little trained security guards who have to be supervised by a real cop who infact could be out there doing his job as a police officer.
