Tuesday 5th May 2009, 3:51PM BST.

A 33-year-old Shropshire man has admitted causing the death of another man by dangerous driving.

Robert Tebay, from Northwood Green, Wem, appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court today.

He admitted causing the death of Carl Birch by dangerous driving on April 4 last year.

Mr Birch, a gardener from Manor Place, Higher Heath, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash which happened in Moss Lane in Whixall.

Mr Birch, 31, died from head injuries when the dark grey MG hatchback in which he was travelling left the road and overturned. Tebay suffered minor injuries in the crash.

The court adjourned the case for sentencing.

Judge Mark Eades issued an interim driving disqualification until the next hearing. Tebay was released on bail.
