Shrewsbury set for busy week

Monday 4th May 2009, 11:50AM BST.

The Pro-Star StadiumShrewsbury Town officials were today gearing up for a hectic week as they prepare for the play-off double header with Bury, writes James Garrison.

Tickets for Thursday’s semi-final first leg with Bury at the Prostar Stadium on Thursday (7.45pm) went on sale at 10 this morning.

The ticket office was due to close at 4pm today and will then be open 9am to 7pm on Tuesday and Wednesday and from 9am on matchday.

Season ticket holders and supporters with 50 or more loyalty points – amassed by attending matches throughout the season – can buy tickets today and tomorrow, with the tickets going on general sale from Wednesday onwards.

And officials are hoping for a full house at the Prostar Stadium.

“Bury have taken their full allocation and are confident they will sell that,” managing director Rob Bickerton said today.

“It would be nice – and not an unrealistic expectation – if we could sell all our tickets as well. It’s going to be a busy few days but it’s great to be in this position.”

Both legs of the semi-finals will be televised by Sky, with Shrewsbury’s match available on the red button interactive ‘match choice’ service on Thursday along with the other semi-final involving Rochdale and Gillingham.
