Iconic plane to fly over region

Friday 1st May 2009, 10:33AM BST.

A Spitfire was due to fly over Shropshire today as part of a 30th birthday celebration by the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford.

The flypast of one of the Second World War’s most iconic fighter planes was among a series of activities lined up to mark the big day.

An official plaque was also being unveiled in the presence of current and former museum staff and helpers.
