Hopes high for bumper crowds

Blists Hill museum in Madeley, officially opened its new street on Thursday evening. "Canal Street" was opened by President of Ironbridge Gorge Trust, Michael Lowe. General view of the street being looked at in character.The shops along Canal Street have been “designed and built with the greatest of care to ensure that they are authentic copies of buildings from the locality”, said a Blists Hill spokesman. The multi-million-pound Blists Hill development project has been paid for by the regional development agency Advantage West Midlands and European Regional Development Funding through Government Office West Midlands, in a bid to secure Blists Hill Victorian Town’s a position in the premier league of the UK’s top heritage attractions.
