It seems that nothing is new these days. Here we are worrying about swine flu sweeping the globe, but as this US health advert shows, we were doing exactly the same thing back in 1976.

Another day, another health scare. How many epidemics and viruses have there been now that were going to wipe us out?
Yes, we need to be more diligent and watchful.
But as usual there is the hype and hysteria and people fall for it and start panicking.
Still – I suppose the various Government Depts can start putting out press releases and so on and hope that everyone’s attention is diverted from all the other problems that the country faces – and which aren’t really being tackled by our Government! Pity they don’t get so pumped up about hygiene and super bugs in our hospitals eh?

Does anyone else remember that great ole BBC series “Survivors” ? That was flu based , how about a rerun !!

There is always an epidemic or pandemic floating around but nothing comes of it. Scare mongering at its best. Unless you have been to Mexico or the States or have been hugging returning neighbours or relatives I think you should be okay.
